Avara DynaFlex Multiservice Node

Multiplexer & Interface Cards

Avara's DynaFlex product family is a flexible, fully featured, access multiplexer with powerful cross connect & circuit protection capabilities, interoperable and compatible with the NSN Dynanet product.

DynaFlex transforms existing Dynanet installations to next generation levels by adding new features, providing manageability over SNMP and adding other key functionality such as power supply redundancy, enabling users to implement truly protected systems for delivering high availability networks.

DynaFlex supports Point-to-Point, Linear, Ring, Dual Ring, Mesh, Star, Hub-and-Spoke topologies and provides both SDH and Gigabit Ethernet transport technologies, with sub 50ms protection switching.

DynaFlex is suitable for use in a variety of applications including Tele-protection and backhaul for Microwave Radio/GSM/3G/LTE networks.

Wide range of supported interfaces

The DynaFlex platform provides a full complement of circuit interfaces supporting voice, low speed data, tele-protection and layer 2 switched Ethernet services.

A range of voice frequency channel cards supporting FXS/FXO/VF E&M are available, supporting both analogue and SIP based connectivity.

Low speed serial data channel cards that support V.24 and X.21 type interfaces as well as G.703/64K interfaces are also available. Tele-protection applications are supported by the C37.94 channel card. These channel cards can be used as direct replacements for NSN's Dynanet channel cards.

Ethernet data services are also available supporting access and trunk based VLANs together with other features that enable the creation of deterministic packet networks.

Digital Cross Connect

DynaFlex platform provides fully non-blocking cross-connect capabilities at 8K, 64K and Nx64K granularities.

The DB4/DB4X multiplexer units provides a low density cross-connect of up to 4xE1 interfaces, whilst the DXC provides a moderate sized cross-connect of up to 32xE1 interfaces.

The DXC comprises of a set of pluggable cards (up to 8 cards per chassis) to support cross-connect capabilities of up to 32xE1 ports. Each DXC card supports 4xE1 interfaces and can co-exist with the DB4 Mux within the same chassis. The DXC supports a wide range of protected connection types including voice and data summing functions.

DynaFlex also offers cross-connection capabilities at the transport level. The DFS1/4 SDH transport card supports cross-connect for 63xE1 interfaces at VC-12 level. It also support cross-connections at VC-3 and VC-4 levels.

DynaFlex also offers Ethernet based transport cards carrying E1 and Ethernet, implemented using CES and Pseudo Wire technologies and operate in point to point, linear and ring topologies.

Transport

DynaFlex offers transport solutions based on SDH and Ethernet technologies.

The DFS1/4 SDH transport card is a DynaFlex pluggable unit supporting 2xSTM-1/4 and 2xSTM-1 interfaces. Providing 12xE1 G.703, 2x1000 Base-X and 2x10/100/1000 Base-T tributary ports, the DFS1/4 offers a universal, robust and scalable SDH architecture to augment traditional and next generation networks.

The DFX Ethernet transport card supports 8xE1 G.703, 4x10/100 Base-T & 1x1000Base-X tributary interfaces with 2 x 1000Base-X network ports. In applications where the deployment of predictable Ethernet services together with E1 circuits are paramount, the DFX family is the solution of choice.

Both SDH and Ethernet transport cards operate in Point-to-Point, Linear and Ring topologies with sub 50ms protection switching for all services.

These key transport components allows systems integrators to create powerful, efficient and high availability transport networks to enhance traditional systems for supporting the services of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
